Adolescents and illicit drugs

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Here is a letter expires on teen for illegal drugs.

Illegal drugs - How to make your life better or worse performance - can make your life better?

Entertainment - something to do.
As a group?
Seem more grown up?
Dull senses for a few hours - if this can be considered as desirable.
What else?
Disadvantages - How to make your life worse.
The possibility of someone with a gun and handcuffs to arrest.
Great lawyers, legal or financial penalties. This can be veryfelony for the second plus if you're not a child anymore.
Criminal record makes it very difficult to get a decent job. You know what your lifestyle will be like when you must support the minimum wage?
Possible loss of privileges and driving or driving. And as you work, for fun, to get money? How can you go on a date? How do co-op, if you want? How do you go to school?
You may have your vehicle seized or forfeited if the police believe mayhave for the purchase or sale of drugs have been used (by you or a friend using drugs and transport).
Loss of parental support for car insurance.
Hanging with drug users arrested makes you a target for police.
illegal drugs and alcohol are ruining much heavier drugs and their lives. Abuse of alcohol and drugs are ruining the # 1 and # 2 factors, the life miserable. Other illegal activities would be the # 3 will ruin your life.
lack of confidence of parents. We would never have our car loan, ifDo you think that perhaps with drugs or transporting a drug addict? We would be willing to seizure or loss of vehicle risk if drugs could be in our car? If we want to help with cash if some of the money goes for drugs, cigarettes and alcohol?
Low or no support from mom and dad. We are ready to continue to argue that beyond what we needed. But only if your contribution. IE: good school, worked hard to get good grades, no drug use or criminal activityetc. We want to help education enough (and avoid a criminal record), so enjoy a good life and more joy in life. If you do not want to go ahead with our plan, you will have to support themselves.
Health risks - you studied biology at school? What do you know about bacteria and how disease spread? When a couple of drug addicts put a spoon in his mouth, you're ready, put in your mouth? Want to share a joint or pipe in his mouth after a drug userdid? It 's funny sick with a viral or bacterial infection? If it was for fun, hepatitis B or C? Etc., pay for medical care if you have a health problem of drugs? In the case that our responsibility?
Any type of smoke has been proven that your body can be damaged. Marijuana is known to the memory of the damage, damage to brain cells and increases the likelihood of a terrible disease like emphysema and heart disease.

FUN - There are many fun things other than drugs, alcohol, smoking, and notcriminal activities. Alcohol and drugs are not really fun stuff, affecting memory activities. And memories are one of the best parts of a fun activity. Alcohol and drugs are basically poisons that blunt the senses and take a little ', with possible permanent damage to the body more stupid. The bad part is much bigger than it may seem the benefits. We hope you can learn this without further suffering.

The election - the rules of the game and haveexcellent opportunity for a happy lifestyle and success ... a house, new car, vacation, well dressed, or criminal, etc. followed by entertainment kicked out, homeless or begging for a place to another place to go. Looser job or no job, no car or clunker, the jail ... Life is very cruel for those who choose this path.

Choose carefully! PS - Some may think that they can enjoy illegal "and just continue to be waterproof and not get caught. This doesn t WORK! The way togood chance of good work!

What Nerf Gun to Choose

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The Nerf gun has become a very popular kid's toy with so many designs to look cool, the decision of what one to purchase can be a bit overwhelming. The painted designs are very bright, grabbing children's attention instantly. The company that has made the Nerf gun does have age ranges associated with the different guns available. This should be something looked at by parents as the Nerf guns aimed at older children can be more powerful so not best suited for younger children. The design of the Nerf gun can vary to in the way you shoot it as well as the actual weight of the gun being a consideration take bear in mind.

Another area to think about is where will your children's gun be used, will it be indoors, the back garden or somewhere else. This should be taken into consideration as some models can shoot up to forty feet in distance so not ideal to be used indoors. There are small guns which are less powerful and have a shorter range so much better suited for the living room or indoors in general. If it's a rainy day and the kids want to play, they won't be limited to not having Nerf battles with their new toy.

A very popular option in the Nerf range is the Nerf Maverick, Nerf Raider and Nerf Vulcan which all included a very cool design and slightly different purposes for each gun. If you see a Nerf Maverick, you will see it looks like a revolver so a small gun in a child's hand. This Nerf gun takes a chamber of 6 foam darts which can be fired in just a few seconds. If you are looking for an indoor gun then this is ideal as the range of the foam darts is around 15 feet.

Other options as mentioned are the Raider and Vulcan which are larger in size and much better suits for older children or a big kid who would love a Nerf gun fight. The Nerf Raider resembles a Tommy Gun which us big kids will most certainly have heard of. The specification of this gun can take up to 35 darts which can then either shoot single shots or the whole magazine in a rapid fire mode.

The third option is the Nerf Vulcan which is designed to fire mini foam darts. The added Nerf Belt provides access to be able to carry around more ammo so the kids wont run out easily. The Nerf Vulcan produces pretty good accuracy when shooting as well as being suits for outdoor play due to the distance the darts travel.

There are wide choices of Nerf guns available so look around for the gun which would suit each child independently due to the size as well as indoor or outdoor play. Any kid with a Nerf gun chosen for their size will have a wicked time in any Nerf gun battle.

Sport a Cool Look With Funky Drum Sets

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Not all the drum players are similar, so their drum kits also differ from each other. All the drum players like to choose the drum set which suits their sense of styling and attitude. Today, a funky band of musicians with a drummer who has half of his body covered with tattoos and have a pierced eyebrow and lip would obviously like to sit behind a funky drum set with all the possible glitter on its body and not behind a Vintage drum set.

These days the craze for funky drum sets is high among the young drummers. As the punk style is in nowadays, young guys want to reflect theirs attitude in all the things they use or carry. This type of drum kit really looks very good with all those glossy glittering colors, funky fiery stickers all around its body and many snare drums and cymbals and other things. Most of the recent bands use such drum sets. But still it is very difficult to find out funky drum set in musical stores as this type of sets is manufactured very rarely. However, if you go through the net you can find out a few such drum kits for sale.

Since the availability of this type of drum kits is very rare and if you order any company for one it, then they will take a lot of time to get it delivered, the best option to get a funky drum set is to go for custom drums. They are specifically designed to satisfy your needs. Usual drum sets come pre-constructed, where the scope of modification is very less. If you want a funky set then custom drum set are the best option for you.

A custom made drum set with handmade drums usually has a more fascinating sound than normal manufactured ones. To find out custom made funky drum sets, you need to look for people or companies who specialize in this craft. You can find out such companies or people by browsing online or by taking information from people who already own such kits. A handmade custom drum provides you the opportunity to design your drum kit the way you like. You can ask the drum designer to put more than one cymbal with different sounds, snare drums, bass drums and that also in a sequence, which is convenient to you.

Special care is taken for color of the drums and its graphics to make it look funky. This is done mostly as per the demand of the customer, but it is always better to leave the decision of color and graphic combination over the drum maker as they have a better sense and can make your drum kit look unique. However, the custom drum maker will definitely ask your opinion before giving a color to your drum kit.

Another option to get a funky drum set is to make your own custom drums. But before taking any such step always keep in mind that people who make or assemble drums are incredibly skilled. Having a custom made funky drum set can give you your unique style and sound, which will set you at a different level from other players.

Practice Playing the Drums Quietly

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Drumming is a great art to master. Not only does it require a great deal of dexterity and coordination, but it also requires the drummer to really feel and get into the music that he is playing. The drum set is a great musical instrument that takes a lot of practice in order to become great at.

Sometimes, however, practicing may become a little bit of a problem if you do not have a music studio at your convenience. If you live in an apartment or close to neighbors, your practice sessions will make a great deal of noise and you may potentially become a nuisance and an annoyance to you neighbors and the people that you live with as well. In addition, you may have a busy schedule which only affords you to practice your drumming at night. Being noisy at night will upset the sleeping patterns of your neighbors and you may even be justly fined with a ticket from your local police department for disturbing the peace.

Do not fret too much. There are a couple of solutions that can afford you the ability to practice your drumming just about any time you want without disturbing anyone.

Drum Pad Silencers

Drum pad silencers are simple pads made out of a rubber-like material that you apply onto the top of your drums. These drum pad silencers absorb the sound that hitting the drums with your drumsticks make while at the same time still preserving a good amount of the same natural stick bounce and feel of your drum set. They even make these great silencer pads for the bass drum and cymbals.

Do not get me wrong, you will still create some noise while you are practicing with the drum pad silencers on. However, if you close your room door, your family will hardly hear a thing, and your neighbors will not hear a thing at all. So, with drum pad silencers, you can rock out on your drum set at any time of the day that you wish without disturbing the peace of anyone.

Rock Band

Have you heard of the video game Rock Band? Well, if you are a musician, than you should familiarize yourself with Rock Band. Granted, playing this video game is not really like playing in an actual rock band, the drum set in Rock Band comes pretty close to the real thing. The drum sequences in the video game are pretty awesome, and will test your drumming skills. These things are fairly quiet, but if you want it even quieter, they make drum pad silencers for the drum set made for Rock Band.

If you have got a set of headphones for your television and you have drum silencer pads, you are good to practice drumming with Rock Band almost at any time that you would like. It is a fun way to practice and test your coordination and dexterity.

So, these are just a couple of examples that should get you started with practicing your drumming quietly or as quietly as possible at the least. Rock on!

Italian Folk Songs

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Comprising of a rich musical heritage, Italian folk music comprises of diverse styles, dance forms and musical instruments. With the country's gradual unification, hundreds of music styles from different Italian regions came together quite late in the 20th century. Italy's folk music has had several regional influences especially from the south of Europe as well as Celtic, Persian, African, Roma and Arabic. Sardinia's music compared to the rest of Italy is distinctive, in that it is best known for its chanting of the tenores.

With pockets of small city states in every region, diverse music styles have coexisted for a very long time combining traditions like narrative and ballad singing. American Alan Lomax in 1956 proposed to unify Italy's musical heritage through a classification system and it has often been repeated since. Italian Diego Carpitella, Franco Coggiola and Roberto Leydi carried out various field recordings and captured various folk traditions.

Italian folk songs talk about important events and celebrations. They also comprise of ballads, lullabies, serenades, epic songs and children's songs. In 1966, Gianni Bosio founded the Istituto Ernesto de Martino and from here Italian folk music was revived and brought once again into the limelight on a larger scale. Soon various Italian folk bands gained prominence including La Lionetta, La Ciapa Rusa, Re Niliu, Calicanto, and Baraban.

Regions to the north of Italy have deep Celtic and Slavic influences. Central Italy has peasant poets or poeti contadini who sing poems of Homer and Dante, focusing on the political and social situations in that specific region. This medieval style of poetry is sometimes competitive in nature while leaving room for interpretation and improvisations. During the 1970's roots revival, roots revivalists were greatly influenced by jazz music played entirely on acoustic settings.

Ethnic Greeks have been residing in cities like Calabria and Puglia for a very long time. Traditional folk music emerging from this region includes a religious piece Passiuna tu Christù, which narrates and describes the Passion of Christ. Sicily's music is more diverse in nature, comprising of devotional and religious songs, harvest folk songs and songs of the peasant workforce.

Musical accompaniments are an important facet of Italian folk music. Some of their instruments are used only for certain religious occasions or rituals like the zampogna bagpipe which is heard only during Christmas. Their main instruments are broken down into three groups - string, percussion and wind. Dancing also plays an integral part of most folk ritual songs. While there are group dances, solo and couple dances also co-exist such as the courting dance called the duru-duru dance in Sardinia.

Electric Drum Set Versus Acoustic Drum Set

Image : http://www.flickr.com

When you're first starting out learning how to play drums, you might wonder what the differences between an electric drum set and an acoustic drum set are.

Well, besides the obvious difference of how they're played, there are a few things that are very worth mentioning:

Firstly, the sound factor. If you aren't in a position to play or practice in a loud environment, you won't be able to even play your acoustic set, where if you have an electric set, you can hop on your set and start playing immediately. And by using headphones, you won't have to worry at all about complaints or waking anyone up while you're practicing your drums.

Another plus for electric drum sets is that they are much easier to record from. With acoustic drum sets, you've got to figure out how to record them and work from there. The main reason for this is that you can simply plug in an electric kit and record like that, however, with an acoustic drum set, it will resonate a lot more and cause a lot of static unless you have proper padding and such on the walls to help deflect it.

Acoustic drum sets, however, are definitely better if you're going to play live or with a band. They have a much richer sound and you can just do so many other things that you aren't really able to do with an electric, just because of the way they're built.

In the end, if you're a beginner, I would definitely recommend an electric kit. They don't take up as much space, and can be way more affordable for you to learn on, especially if you're not quite sure if drums are for you. A lot of people start out thinking that they'll absolutely love the drums, but then when they see how much work is involved, they quickly become discouraged and decide otherwise.

Soundproofing Drum Set Tips For Noise Reduction

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Are you looking for soundproofing drum set tips for noise reduction in your apartment, garage or
shed? Is your hobby or livelihood as a drummer being threatened by family or neighbor complaints? Granted, drumming is what you like to do but It can be quite annoying to those that are subjected to the noise. We will take a look at some helpful tips, both expensive and inexpensive, to get you back on track to having fun.

Expensive soundproofing

One of the most expensive ways to soundproof would be creating a room within a room. This pertains to a garage or shed providing there will be enough space for the drums and for you to maneuver about. Essentially, you will be framing and putting up walls, a door, and window if necessary.

You will want to have the new walls 4 to 6 inches away from the existing wall. This gap creates a barrier and will absorb much of the sound. Keep in mind for extra sound protection, insulate and sheet rock the existing walls if the framing is exposed. Attach egg cartons, 12" x 12" flats, available at an egg distribution center or carton shaped foam to the sheet rock.

After you finished the framework for the new wall, check to see if you will need electrical outlets. This needs to be done before the final attachment of the new walls. Hire a qualified electrical contractor for any electrical applications. It is possible that you may have to apply for a building/electrical permit, so be sure to check with local ordinances.

Attach ¾" particle board panels to the framing, paying attention to the alignment of electrical outlets, if needed. Add carpet or egg carton shaped foam to all the walls. * If outlets are installed, make sure that a fire extinguisher is available nearby in case of an emergency. Last, if the ground floor is concrete or wood, lay down carpet that will cover the floor wall to wall. A good inexpensive carpet to use would be an indoor/outdoor carpet mostly used in outdoor patios.

If you are not comfortable in taking on the huge task of soundproofing using inner walls, by all means hire a contractor. Again, check with local ordinances for possible building and electrical permits. Cost will vary on the specifics of what it will take to build but a pretty good estimate can run from $3,500 and
much higher.

Electronic drum set

The advantage of using electronic drums is that you can play them with the use of headphones. You will be able to hear all of the drum sounds with barely any noise from tapping on the drum pads. These sets can be played wherever an electrical outlet is available and do not take up too much room. Electronic sets vary in price from a fairly inexpensive amount of $500 up to $6,000.

Drum pads

The least inexpensive way to go would be the addition of drum pads. The pads are made of rubber or neoprene and fit right on the drumheads and cymbals. You may hear a bit of tone but the overall volume is diminished considerably. The bass drum may need additional muffling by stuffing the drum shell with pillow or blankets. You can find the pads at a low cost of $20, depending on what you will need for your set.

Whatever route you take to help minimize the drum noise, it is understood that you are making a conscious effort to be considerate of others and still enjoy your drumming.

Drum Sets - Tips For Student Instruction

Image : http://www.flickr.com

When teaching a student to play drum sets, perhaps some of the following issues should be covered:

Keep It Simple - The fact is that playing drums can be complex, but it essentially is a very simple instrument. Do not inundate students with too much information at one time. Start off teaching by assuming that the student knows absolutely nothing about drums. As lessons progress, the complexity of the jargon and practices can progress as well.

Encourage the right equipment - A teacher should encourage students to take good care of their drums. A double tom case will save a student time because he will have less that he needs to carry around. Likewise, a portable handcart is a nice item to have. This can help a person move the drums from the vehicle to the stage without injuring himself from trying to carry the equipment.

Encourage over learning - A student on a drum must know every piece of that set and every sound that the set makes so that it is simply second nature when he plays it. Every lick should be over learned so that playing the drum is done without even needing to think about it.

Help with cleaning - A good teacher will help his students not only be able to play the drum sets, but will also help a student know how to care for the equipment. Teachers can show students how to clean their sets by using a can of compressed air to get the dust out of the places that are hard to reach with a rag. Such places include areas such as in between the lugs and underneath the foot pedals.

Drums also often have dry duct tape residue on them. If there is residue on either the cymbals or on the drum stands, it can fairly easily be removed with a bottle of "Goo Gone."

Practice without drums - Even though a set is needed for performing, it is not always needed for practicing. A person who is working on learning a beat sometimes might be better off starting without the drums and then start using the set once he has become a little more comfortable with the lick that is to be played.

Encourage "heel up" play - Teaching a student about a technique to use when playing a drum set can make the student improve at a faster pace. It can also keep him from getting used to bad habits. By using the heel up method for playing a bass drum, a teacher can help his student know how to play with more power and more speed.

Play together - Playing a drum set alongside a student can help the student get a better idea of the positioning and posture he needs to have to play well. Playing together can also help a student better learn how to keep a beat on these sets.

A teacher who takes the time to properly explain and show his student how to play on drum sets is likely to increase his customer base thanks to the good reviews he will receive.

Getting A Good Drum Sound

Image : http://www.flickr.com

As someone who has been playing drums since a teenager and been an engineer for nearly 15 years one of the most important things for me in a song is getting a great drum sound. Before anything has been mic'd up or you've even got into a studio there are 3 important factors that can contribute to getting that all important great drum sound. These are ensuring the recording is being used on a professional maple or birch kit depending on the sound you are going for and not making do with a sub standard drum kit. The kit should have new heads and should be tuned to the key of the song as each drum holds a note. It should be tuned in the room it is being recorded in so the kit heats or cools to the room temperature. These points can make such a difference to a recording and to a detailed ea,r can be the difference between an average demo and a professional recording. The second factor is to use good quality mics and pre amps as you will only get good clarity and detail in depth on a recording with good mics. If you don't have a good source signal it will be incredibly hard to get a good final sound. The other factor is to ensure the player behind the kit is of a good standard for the music you are recording and has the ability to be tight with the band and know when to and when not to overplay. Being able to use dynamics within their playing can make a difference on a recording and paying attention to detail is always important when playing drums on a recording. The most important thing though is to be as tight as possible with the rest of the rhythm section.

The Bass Drum

One of the most important decisions when recording drums is to decide what mic or mics you want to use and getting the right positioning for them. The most commonly used bass drum mics are dynamic mic with the AKG D112, Shure Beta 52a, Audix D6 and the Electrovoice RE20 being popular choices. I personally would favour a Senheisser 421 on the beater and a good Neumann outside the bass drum to pick up the sub frequencies to blend with the clicky signal.

The close mic on the bass drum will have spill from the other drums and cymbals in particular the snare and tom toms. The best way to get around this is to use a gate. The attack should be set quite fast like with most other drums, in order to get a punchy sound. The release should be set to close fully once the sound has finished so you don't hear the spill but watch you don't set the release to quick and lose some of the source sound. Most drawmer gates can do a job on a kick drum.

The next thing is to set up a compressor on the bass drum. If you set an attack time which is a little slower (10 to 20mS), it will allow the click of the drum hit to pass through the compressor it is being compressed. To help get that clicky sound on the kick, use a ratio of around 3:1 and have the threshold set around an average of -4dB of gain reduction to each beat beat, the release should return to normal before each beat. A good kick drum compressor I find the TLA Audios Valve 5051 is a good kick drum compressor. You just need to make sure you drive the input to get a punchy sound.

If the kick doesn't have enough presence then try equalising around 4 and 7kHz on a mid Q just adding a little gain where you feel appropriate around these frequencies. This should give the kick more definition and make it cut through the mix. Most good Equalizing units should work but a personal requisite of mine is to use a valve EQ for added warmth. A good EQ for this although not valve and used more for mastering is Massenburgs GML 8200, this unit has several bands of fully parametric EQ for ultimate control.

The SPL Transient Designer allows you to change drum sound envelopes, meaning it possible to add or subtract attack and sustain. Once this has been done listen to the kick drum with the overhead mics and see how they sound together. With the overheads added the Bass drum should sound more natural and slightly ambient. Adjust the compression and EQ again if it needs it, but bear in mind that once the rest of the mix is added that the sound will might need minor adjustments again.

Snare Drum

The best way to record a snare drum I find is to use 2 mics, one above and one below the snare drum with the above mics phase reversed. Shure SM 57s tend to be a popular choice while I sometimes find 2 AKG C451s can do a good job.

Snare mics tend to pick up a lot of unwanted low spill from the kick drum and toms, and may pick up the hi-hats to. For this again gating is necessary preferably a frequency based gate with some bass end and treble rolled off where the problem occurs the side-chain input could be useful if found necessary.
If the snare needs more definition I tend to find adding around 1.8khz on a fairly tigh Q is where the crack of the snare is and can make it cut through the mix really well. If you need any extra crispness, then try a little high EQ at between 4 and 7kHz. To give a bit more body to the snare, sometimes a little gain between 110 to 160Hz can work well but watch you don't add to much as too much in this frequency range can muddy your mix.

Compression on the snare is also recommended to get a tight punch sound. Try not to over compress and be sure not to have the gain reduction go over -3 or 4 dbs. Most drawmer mics can do a good job on the snare although I quite like using an Urei 1176.

Toms Toms

The most common Tom mics are the dynamic Sennheiser MD421 which tend to be clipped onto the toms. As toms are normally hit during fill-ins and rarely anywhere else, then a gate is needed when they are not in use. Take off some low end from the gate's side-chain input will eradicate false triggering from kick-drum spill. If you struggle with getting a suitable gate a good alternative is lose the spill after the recording in your sequencer or tape machine.

I tend to give the Toms some definition give the small tom some boost around 6k the mid tom 5k and the floor tom some 4k. Obviously this is hugely subjective and depends on the sizes of the toms you are working on. Adding between 100Hz and 200Hz I tend to find good frequencies to work with for picking out the resonance of each tom. A fairly small reverb can be a good idea also to have the toms sit in their own space in the mix and also give a bit more of a live sound that the processing might have lost.

Again compression can be a good idea when recording the toms. Be sure to listen to the Toms with the overheads and not just isolated as the overheads play a large part in the final sound of the drums.

Hi-Hats

The AKG C451 is a popular hi-hat mic which works really well pointed away from the kit.
No gating is needed for the hats. Rolling off all the low frequencies is advised to lose the spill of the bass, snare and toms.

Overhead Mics

AKG 414s tend to be very popular overhead mics for a majority of people although I sometimes find them a little clinical. A personal favourite of mine are Coles 4038 or 4040 Ribbon Mics. They seem to get a great smokey sound that oozes expense to me. As Overheads pick up the cymbals and hats getting good definition on these mics is really important. For indie and jazz, using a lot of the overhead mix can be imperative. For rock and pop, I tend to use more of the individual mics and add a little over-heads subtly. I tend to find the overheads need no compression and should never be gated so an open sound is achieved.

A little equalising is sometimes necessary on the low end where the kick overspill may be a little much and there may be some phasing issues on the low end having used several mics in a relatively close space. Rolling a little low end here can help with both these potential issues. If the drums were recorded in a fairly small room sometimes a reverb can be added. I tend to find a Yamaha SPX 900 or the more expensive Lexicon PCM 80 can do a really good job here.

Ukulele Tab: Learn To Play Love Me Tender

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Can you play the melody to Love Me Tender on your ukulele? With the help of ukulele tab you can learn to play it in no time. Let's start!

Love Me Tender is a song sung by Elvis Presley, to the tune of Aura Lee, a Civil War song by George R. Poulton. Elvis originally performed it in the movie Love Me Tender.

I will use my own form of ukulele tab to be sure that the tabs are readable on article sites.

You can find the more common ukulele tab staff on my site with ukulele tab, guitar tablature and free sheet music.

The string with the highest pitch on the ukulele is usually an A and is called the first string. This will be the bottom string when you hold your ukulele in playing position.

The first number indicates the fret. The second number tells you which string to play. Here is the first part of Love Me Tender with ukulele tab:

03 12 02 12 32 23 32 12 02 23 02 12

03 indicates that you play the third string without pressing down a left hand finger. We call this to play on an open string.

12 means that you press down a left hand finger on the first fret on the second string.

Play the notes with your right hand thumb or in some other way you like.

The length of the notes is not indicated with this type of ukulele tab notation. I guess you will find out this by yourself.

Let's play the next part of the song:

03 12 02 12 32 23 32 12 02 23 02 12

A repetition of the first melody as you can see.

What left hand finger should you use when you play? I suggest that you play the notes on the first fret with your first finger, the notes on the second fret with your long finger and the notes on your third fret with your ring finger.

It can be a little bit difficult to play like this at first but don't give up!

When your left hand fingers get used to this way of playing it will actually become easier for you to find the right notes.

When you get used to this way of playing you don't even have to look at your fingers when you play.

The next part of the melody with ukulele tab looks like this:

01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 32 12 32 01

I guess that you hear that the seventh note should be a little bit longer than the rest.

01 01 11 01 32 23 32 12 02 23 02 12

In this last ukulele tab the seventh note should also be a little bit longer.

Now the melody is complete!

I guess this means that you can play Love Me Tender on your ukulele. Congratulations!

This melody can be played on guitar too with the use of the above ukulele tab notation! The first three strings on a guitar are tuned the same way but not in the same pitch.

I suggest that you take one melody line at a time and learn it by heart so you can play it anywhere and anytime!

Buying Drums - How Can You Find That Perfect Drum Set?

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Buying drums is great fun, but it can also be a bit overwhelming. Not only do you need to find the right drums, but there are the cymbals to consider, not to mention cymbal stands and bass drum pedals. Hopefully this buying guide will take some of the apprehension out of the experience so that you can enjoy the FUN!

Questions to Ask Yourself Before Buying Drums

* Who will be using the drumset?

If you are buying drums for a Elementary, my advice to Tom's consider a basic 5 piece drum kit (snare, bass drum and two mounted), with plates, pedal and hardware included with the. Fortunately, there are some companies, relatively inexpensive to make sentences, but of good quality seed. Some brands are looking for Ludwig, Pearl, Percussion Plus, wrist, and Tama.

Often the pools and hardware that these rates are not high quality, but if the base set is goodQuality, you can update the following devices (future birthday and Christmas).

If you are an experienced player, you may consider only the dishes and upgrade hardware. If you already have the plates and the hardware you want, you can buy Tom a package shell drum, from which no additional hardware except the rims and mountains.

You want to reflect on the series right type of batteryMusic you play. A rule of thumb is that the drum kit Blues with smaller and less are a good fit for the jazz tradition and above all other forms of acoustic music, while drum sets with larger drums are better for rock and increased more than other styles.

* How much can I afford to spend?

Once you decide the type of percussion battery that you like, the next step in the purchase transaction is a good thing - buy a bit 'of moneypossible. Some things to note:

1) The surcharge on all drum sets is usually 50% or more. If the manufacturer and get the list price and 30% discount on this image you get a fair price, which is for you and the dealer. Refuse to pay more.

2) If you see a business Drum Set the bottom of the barrel, traders, you know that was paid for his money. If you're willing to pay half the value of 30% to the front and haveFor him the verdict, he will pay with your money - No stock exchange, with the exception of the dime and time for the call.

3) It is usually much more from online retailers. The trick to go to a local dealer and decide what you want then check prices online. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Analysis of Self-Portraits of Vincent van Gogh

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Vincent - Model, Myth & Human Being

"...it is difficult to know yourself, but it isn't easy to paint oneself either." -Vincent van Gogh

>From 1885 through 1890, van Gogh painted at least 30 self-portraits, an amazing number of likenesses to complete in such a short time span. They represent his most active years as a master artist, and all carry the distinctive van Gogh intensity with which every picture he ever made was imbued.

Many of his early self-portraits resemble the great self-portraits carried out by Rembrandt van Rijn in the 1600's. A comparison between the two elicits several points of similarities, such as the serious demeanor, elegant and dramatic lighting and a certain likeness in the visage itself. These are portraits of two master Dutch artists from vastly different times, but a viewer making such comparisons tends to feel the two would have probably been great friends.

A tour through Vincent's many self-portraits displays not only his ability to paint character in an intensely personal way, but also his comfort with different styles. During his brief but almost supernaturally productive ten years as an artist, van Gogh made the transition from realism to impressionism (especially pointalism) to expressionism with nary a glitch. His own style was quite firmly in place by the last few years of his life, and is now either labeled "expressionistic" or "post-impressionist."

Two of his most famous self-portraits would never have been painted were it not for his friend and eventual nemesis, Paul Gauguin. One is a haunting and disquieting painting called "Self-Portrait Dedicated to Paul Gauguin," and the other is simply titled "Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear."

The incident which caused van Gogh to slice off most of an earlobe is possibly the most famous in art history. During a violent disagreement with his friend Gauguin, Vincent heard the words "Kill him" in that ear, which he opted to remove rather than obey. This great artist suffered throughout his life from unruly emotional seizures and great mental strife which led him to enter an asylum for a year and then to commit suicide.

It is easy to romanticize such a bigger-than life character whose work consistently creates enormous impact in the viewer's heart and mind. We say, "Oh you were misunderstood, but we understand, Vincent." And indeed, we do understand. The fact is, his greatest gift was the ability to make paintings that are at once tremendously moving and also simple enough to communicate with diamondlike clarity.

Though largely unrecognized during his lifetime, Van Gogh believed himself to be a true artist. His 37 years on this planet were not easy nor pleasant, being full of depressive and violent episodes. But if his body of self-portraits tell us anything, it is that he knew, loved and accepted himself as much as the beloved friends and peasants he depicted with so much care and compassion.

Wrought Iron Work: Beauty and Strength

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Wrought iron is a very strong form of iron that has been hammered out, which is very different from cast iron which is molten iron that is poured into a mold and allowed to cool. Wrought iron is a much stronger type of iron, which is why it is used for many different types of applications in the world today. Some of the main uses for wrought iron are for furniture and many different types of decorations.

Wrought iron is extensively used for different types of furniture. Many beds, benches, and other types of furniture are made out of wrought iron. Bar stools are usually made out of wrought iron as well. Wrought iron allows the legs of the stool to be made with a very strong type of metal, but it also allows the legs to have intricate designs worked into them. Wrought iron furniture gives a room a very rustic look, but it also provides a sturdy type of furniture that will last for a very long time. The most popular type of wrought iron furniture is usually a black or dark gray combined with dark wood. Wrought iron furniture can make a room very dark, but it can really pop out with a light paint color. The best thing to do if filling a room with wrought iron furniture is to paint the walls a light neutral color, so that the furniture will stand out.

Another very common use for wrought iron is for a variety of decorations. Wrought iron is a very common material to use to build an outside gate, because of its ability to stand up to the weather, and also the ability to make intricate designs to make the gate very fancy. Wrought iron is also used very much to make a lattice in a garden, because the wrought iron is a great medium for ivy to grow on. The ivy attaches to the wrought iron, and has the ability to climb and twist its way all throughout the lattice. Many sconces are also made of wrought iron, as well as curtain rods, because it gives a good contrast to the material that the curtains are made from.

Celebrity Gossip - The Price of Fame

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Fame can be costly at times. The wide range of celebrity gossip sites provide proof of the fact that people like talking and knowing about celebrities. The vast popularity of the celeb gossip portals see a lot of traffic each day, asserting it that people love to read about them and be updates. Entertainment news sites are coming up every other day to keep you posted on what is happening in tinsel town. But this life is something that gets under the skin of the celebrities. They complain that their every little act or the lack of it is reported in the columns.

Celebrities have a major complaint against the celebrity gossip portals. The complaint is simple: they need to be left alone when they want their private moments to remain so. Celeb gossip sites are in no mood to relent because trespassing into the private lives of the celebrities is their bread and butter. They are only feeding an insatiable demand of the readers of the entertainment news columns. Nothing makes these portals tick than inside scoops about what is happening behind the scenes. The paparazzi would give an arm and a leg for a shot of a celebrity hanging around with an extra-marital partner.

The debate boils down to the basics: are celebrity gossip sites the price that celebrities pay. There are some celebrities who like to take the celeb gossip sites in their stride. They shrug them off with the comment that they worked hard to get noticed, so they don't have any problem with the paparazzi taking pictures of them at random. Many of these celebrities are accustomed to their private moments being splashed all over the newsprint and the internet. They have grown used to the fact and they can live around with this lack of privacy as necessary evil.

Come to think of it, celebrity gossip sites do things the right way, when there is an opportunity. If you are an entertainment news junkie, you know that there are these times when the celeb gossip sites pay the celebrity for shots of their wedding or even of their newborns. Sometimes the celebs relent and they make tons of dough on the deals of the pictures. There are other times when the celebrity decides to keep things under wraps. That's when the reporters working on the beat decide to get adventurous. They think of ways to crack open the security ring that the celebrities throw upon themselves.

A famous case is when Catherina Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas got married. Despite the millions of dollars and the police and the private security protecting them from the paparazzi, and each guest personally welcomed by the marriage planner himself with the help of an undisclosed security code, an ingenuous person still got in and took snaps! The celebrity gossip magazine that published the pictures got sued but this set an historical example that no celebrity and no event was away from the infiltration of celeb gossip reporters!

Drum Sets

Image : http://www.flickr.com

There are two types of drum sets- acoustic and electronic. Within these two categories are instruments of tremendous variety. What you choose will depend on your musical tastes, your needs, and your budget.

Acoustic Drum Sets

Acoustic drum sets, also called drum kits, are what we typically think of when we think of the drums. They usually include a snare drum, cymbals, bass drum, and toms. Latin drum sets include all those pieces plus some hand drums and other accessories to hit with the drum stick such as cow bells. The sound is generated by the drum itself after the percussionist hits it with the sticks.

These types of drum sets form the back bone of most western music. When you listen to the radio, a good majority of the songs you here (unless it is classical) gets their percussive, rhythmic feel from the drum set. Though drummers tend to blend into the background of a band, their skill is necessary to hold the song together. The other musicians rely on the patterns created by the drummer. If the drummer misses a beat, it has the potential of causing the other musicians to lose their place.

Electronic Drum Sets

You can purchase electronic drum sets that are set up the same way as acoustic drum sets. With these types of drum sets, however, the sound is generated electronically instead of within the drum. When the drummer hits the electronic drum with the stick, the sound is processed electronically, which generates the sound. You can also buy electronic drum sets that resemble a pad. In this case, you can hit at the drum with your hand or a stick and the drum sound is generated and processed within the device.

So, there are two types of drum sets- acoustic and electronic. Your tastes, needs and budget will determine which one you should purchase. It's also perfectly fine to purchase one of each.

The 4 Basic Rock Drum Set Coordinations

Image : http://www.flickr.com

When learning to play rock drums, there are only a few ways that you need to be able to coordinate your limbs before you can play most rock songs. If we look at drumming from the simplest point of view, we can see that there are ultimately only two things we can do with a stick. We can let it bounce out of the drum head, or we can let it bounce in. When we let it bounce out, we get only one stroke. When we let it bounce back in, we can achieve multiple strokes for only one wrist/arm motion. The most common uses of bouncing in would be the double stroke roll (RRLL) and the buzz roll, in which the stick is allowed to bounce as many times as possible, creating a consistently sustained sound from the drum. These basic strokes could be called the rudiments to the rudiments, if you will. They are the extra tiny pieces that combine to make up EVERY single rudiment that you play.

So when we play the drum set, especially when playing rock drum patterns, we're going to be playing the snare on beats two and four most of the time, while keeping straight eighth notes on the hi hat, or any other cymbal for that matter. If you read drum tabs, this pattern will look like this:
x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
----o-------o---

We can then add bass drum patterns that use either singles or doubles. There are four combinations that we create here. The bass drum can be played together with the hi hat, in between hi hat notes, it can play a double that starts with a hi hat note, and it can play a double that starts in between hi hat notes.

This first one is the MOST BASIC rock drum beat ever. It is what every other groove that you'll ever play is based on. The tabs for playing a bass drum note together with the hi hat look like this (We'll play the bass drum on one and three):
x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
----o-------o---
o-------o-------

One of the most common bass drum patterns that uses the bass drum in between hi hat notes looks like this:
x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
----o-------o---
o--o----o--o----
Listen carefully to make sure that the second bass drum note is played all by itself. DO NOT play the hi hat with it. We have to cut the invisible string tying your right hand to your right foot. If you have trouble with this at first, try breaking it down like this:

Just play the first 3 notes:
x-x-
o--o

Another good exercise for this one is to just play back and forth between the hi hat and bass drum repeatedly:
x-x-x-x-
-o-o-o-o

Then you can go back and try the whole beat again.

The next beat will have a double on the bass drum that starts with a hi hat note. Make sure that you don't play a hi hat note with the second bass drum note. Again, we need to untie your right hand from your right foot. Here's the groove:
x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
----o-------o---
oo------oo------

If you have trouble with this try breaking it down and just playing the hard part SLOWLY:
x-x-
oo--

Then try the whole beat again.

The last basic coordination for this lesson is playing a double that starts in between hi hat notes. Try this one:
x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-
----o-------o---
o------oo------o

Note that on this groove, while it doesn't appear visually as a double, the last note and the first note will sound right next to each other. If you have trouble, try this pattern:
x-x-x-x-
o--oo--o

Once you've learned these basic patterns, playing rock drum beats will be easy. We can also apply these ideas to the snare drum to make your grooves more interesting. Experiment, have fun, and happy practicing!

p.s. If the tabs don't line up on this page, copy them into a word processing program and find a font that makes all of the characters the same size.

The Benefit of Teaching Drums

Image : http://www.flickr.com

If you've been playing drums for any length of time at all, then you can be teaching drums. You might say, "Yeah, but I don't know enough, or play well enough to teach drums." You know more than someone who's never picked up a pair of drumsticks!

Now, let me clarify "teaching drums."

When I say "teaching drums" or "teach drums," I simply mean showing someone the basics like a cool groove or fill. Not necessarily teaching full blown drum lessons. Leave that to the experts.

I'm just saying you never want to pass up an opportunity to teach someone who happens to be interested in playing drums something cool. Not only will you be robbing them, but you will also be robbing yourself.

"How so?" you may ask.

When you begin teaching drums to someone or showing them some of your drumming knowledge and skills, even if you think it's not much, you will be amazed at the additional things you'll learn. You'll also begin to realize you knew more than you thought you knew about the drums, which will improve your confidence. And, developing confidence is vital to being a great drummer!

Many new drummers lack confidence. I think one of the main reasons is because they tend to compare themselves with other drummers who have been playing longer, are famous, or who have a bigger drum set. Whatever the reason, don't do that! You're not being fair to yourself.

Have you ever heard the phrase, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?" What that means is, what may be impressive to you may not be impressive at all to someone else. For example, you may think highly of a particular musician or singer, but someone else is not going to agree with you. They have their own favorites.

What I'm saying is this, you may be e a better drummer than you think you are. "Better than who?" you may ask. Again, better than someone who's never picked up a pair of drumsticks! See yourself from someone else's perspective. You play... they don't. And, if you have any drumming skills at all, they may think you're awesome.

Again, teaching drums will help you to learn even more and will improve your confidence. Besides, to teach drums to someone else can be a real eye-opening experience for you. Students often bring a whole different perspective to the table and they'll challenge your thinking for sure.

So, find someone who wants to learn, and then teach drums to them. Teaching drums is easy, or at least showing a couple of cool techniques. Wanna-be drummers are everywhere. All you have to do is ask.

Insight to Building a Computer

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Building a computer is not cheap, do not be mislead. What you do not get from buying a retail computer is the ability to pick every single computer component out. Picking your components out is the main benefit of building a computer, especially if you are building a gaming computer.

The Internet gives you the ability to shop around at so many different vendors. Two of my key vendors online are Tigerdirect and Newegg. These two vendors offer a huge selection of computer parts to pick from.

One might ask, how do you keep up with the latest technology? Browsing computer magazines will give you new great ideas for future builds. Doing a little research and familiarizing yourself with the computer technology will give you a greater advantage before building, your next awesome system. This is how one truly becomes aware of the current market. Go to your local store, pick a computer magazine up, and start reading. For more of a variety you could look through a few computer magazine tittles.

Before buying your new computer components, write everything out on paper. This will allow you to visualize your project. Make sure all component technology you are about to buy is supported by your chosen motherboard. This will save time and a headache later. Mailing items back to these two vendors is allowed. They allow the normal thirty day from purchase return policy. This is something to keep in mind if buying things slowly. You might wave your return option. Knowing this you might opt to save your money, and build when your ready to.

Now we will shift into gear an install the computer semiconductor boards. You will need to wear a grounded wrist strap, to prevent static electricity from smoking the semiconductor boards you are going to install. If you do not own one, then you will need to buy one at your local computer parts store like a Radio Shack. Grounding yourself will eliminate static charge, and reduce component failure. Static is the main cause of component failure. Do this and do not take any chances on damaging any components. Trust me, I have been on the side that lost several hundred dollars to static electricity, it really gets your goat, when new to building computers.

Once you have received all your new components, it is time to build. First open the computer case, unwrap the motherboard, line the motherboard up with the wholes in the case were the motherboard goes, and locate the screw wholes below the motherboard. You will need to install shoulder nut screws into the case were the motherboard will rest. Now take out the motherboard and place the shoulder nut screws in the locations that you just identified. The motherboard will rest on these shoulder nut screws, and will be bolted down to them. Once you finish installing the shoulder nut screws, install the motherboard onto of the shoulder nut screws, and screw the motherboard down with the correct screws. This secures the motherboard to the case, but leaves a gap between the back of the motherboard, and the back of the case were the shoulder nut screws are located.

Install the floppy, hard drive, CD-ROM, and DVD drive and connect the corresponding data and power wires to them. The DVD and CD-ROM drives will also have an audio cable connection for running audio to the motherboard.

If you bought a case without a power supply, now is the time to install the power supply. Use your motherboard manual and device manuals to hook up the power leads from the power supply to your devices and motherboard.

Now connect your video card, if installing one and any other cards at this time.

Install your memory and or RAM into the motherboard. Make sure you seat the memory correctly. Install your CPU (Central Processor Unit) and heat sink into the motherboard socket. Follow the instructions that came with the motherboard or memory for correct installation of memory modules. Follow the install instructions for the CPU and heat sink.

Connect all fans to either the power supply or motherboard fan connectors if supplied.

Now install the case wires (Hard Drive LED Light, Power Switch, Power Switch LED, Reset, et cetera) to the motherboard. You will need the manual that came with your motherboard. If you do not have this, go online and download it from the manufactures website. You will also need the most recent set of motherboard drivers for your motherboard. The drivers that shipped with your motherboard are most likely out of date. Download new ones off the manufactures webpage. New drivers will have a host of new fixes in them.

Hook up your monitor, keyboard, and mouse to the computer. Close your case and add power to the computer. Your computer should boot and show the bios on the monitor screen and say it can not find an "Operating System". Awesome job so far.

Next install your operating system and your computer is finished. Motherboard drivers are installed after the operating system is installed.

Install your motherboard drivers now.

Do a defragment to clean the hard drive of fragmented sectors.

Install virus software, like AVG.

Use a Beginner Drum Set Lesson Book to Learn to Play Drums

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Try using a beginner drum set lesson book to learn how to play the drums. There are many books offering drum set lessons suitable to learn on your own. This is a great tool to use anytime and at your own pace. You will find that each drum book available at music stores and online will differ in their approach of instruction. You, the student, will have to take the time to figure out what manual will work for you.

Where to find drum manuals

You can find many drum manuals at your local music store. They will vary in prices depending on the content, added CD/DVD, and the author that wrote it.

Even try online and possibly get a better deal than you would from a brick and mortar establishment. Not to forget to mention, by searching online, you will be exposed to other authors/musicians selling their books that you will not find in stores.

You found your book

You finally purchase your drum lesson book and are ready to embark on the journey of playing the drums. The most important step is to setting up a plan as to how you will self-teach. First, write down on paper when and the amount of time in the day that you will devote to practicing. Will it be in the morning, afternoon, or at night? Will you practice for 15 minutes, 30 minutes or an hour?

Next, what will you practice? This is important in that it will help you stay on target of your learning. Focus on the basics until you are solid at what you are performing before moving onto more difficult lessons. In other words, perform the simplest techniques slowly and purposely and gradually increase your speed until fully confident. Do the same for all of the exercises. What is wonderful about learning from these lessons is that you can refer back to them at anytime and brush up what you might need to strengthen.

Take a lesson

Do not be opposed to taking a lesson or two from a qualified drum teacher. There is always room for improvement and new techniques. The private lesson will enhance what you have learned and broaden your awareness to different styles of playing. Be sure to share with your teacher the book that you are learning from. He or she may work from the one you have or suggest something different.

Have fun learning

Have fun learning from your book all the steps that it takes to be a great drummer. Some steps may be difficult but if you are patient and focused, you will overcome the difficulty and be ready for other lessons waiting for you.

How to Play the Drums

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Like any instrument playing drums well need dedication, hard work, and many hours of practice to learn the basics. You then build up on the skills, practice advanced lessons that get complex and fun. Good drummers usually have no less than 2 to 5 years of regular drums practice!

The first and foremost thing required to learn drums is the desire that you want to learn no matter what or how difficult it is and work through the basic lessons. Once you have firmly decided and persist it is only a matter of time. The best way to learn drums is to practice the lessons when you have access to the drums while you attend your drums training classes or have your own drum set if recommended by your trainer. And then practice it mentally whenever you get free time so that the lessons are recollected when required and this will help you advance rapidly to new lessons.

It is best to join drum lesson classes near you. A teacher would help you teach the basics and correct any errors initially. Playing the drums needs a lot of stamina so it is a good practice that you exercise regularly and ask your teacher for specific exercises for the wrist, shoulders, back, knees and ankles as drums require these body parts to be strong and able to handle the stress initially. In case you experience any discomfort it would be a good practice to consult your physician.

There are many web sites that you can learn drums online but it makes a lot of difference to have a teacher teach you giving the attention required and correcting you initially. You will be far ahead in playing drums with a good teacher rather than trying on your own. Once you have master the basics you could then try the advanced lessons that are available online.

Ideas Percussion Band in Beginners Guide

Image : http://www.flickr.com

The beginner band is a big challenge, have a number of students that open only to learn their instruments and is trying to teach and inspire them to play.

Before the drums to work effectively as one of the biggest challenges, especially if you do not know much about drums.

Do not let "Drummer" alone - as a "drummer" instead of being

This is the most important thing to realize - this band of students oftendress, percussion, so they can play the drum. The) drum kit (or drum kit is often used in the school band, and often is very important so that students feel that, if not victory, because they have to sit back and wait.

The band director must find a way to resolve this situation - if you only have a drummer, then great! You can play the drums and there you go.

The problem can occur if you have different drummersband, sometimes two, four, eight or ten! One option that works very effectively and has many years is required to have a player to play snare drum, a bass drum, a player flat, although a "drum kit" written part. If the type of band I recommend this configuration, this at any time and make the students stand, play the snare drum. Do you have a swimming pool and concert bass drum, and is designed to listenthree players all the time.

Do you have a table auxiliary percussion - and make them get up to play anytime

There's nothing worse than listening to a shaker or tambourine in a vague band of school and struggle to see the person sitting on a stool behind the drums!

When playing tambourine, triangle or shaker - these tools are often essential to the band's sound, like the snare drum or drum set, so therefore they must be made trulyseriously .. the band director and the players.

So more of a "table" with all traps at hand. It is not too expensive to buy one, or one of the professionals available.

Players must always play to stand up and have their music stand has been designed to instantly see the band director.

Warming - not ignore us!

I was a drummer in a band school ... There's nothing more frustrating thanTheir time sitting in the school band room while you're waiting to vote in the wind and heat. Often the band director to spend to spend up to half an hour of heating the players - and expect the percussionists during that time yet.

How to deal with it?

- If you're going to warm up for half an 'hour .... Tell the drums to arrive after the rest! - It makes no difference for you and your better than them as a distraction!

- Why not send themin another room for their own section tests this time? Get a teacher or assistant to work with them to share their

- Use the warm-up routine pre-set involved, what you do with the winds. (Not always, but may, depending on the material you have)

Be ready to add to book the band

When I helped with beginner bands I felt it necessary to books on tape, the students with the use of additional costMaterials - The materials are often of interest, or do not have enough variety to keep students engaged in the materials.

You need a lot of work on basic approaches and roles - often books bands do not deal with these things soon enough. So you may be able to achieve with other materials, which is available online and in books extra.

Each player sticks?

I leave you this - depends on the different personalities in each ofBands you have. A number of popular books of the "Standard of Excellence" has snare / cash book and on the left side of the mallet on the right. A different kind of "essential elements" has a snare and mallet percussion book.

I think it should become a drummer and do as much as possible, and if that means he needs two books, while all other members of the band needs only one .. then this is the way it shouldbe!

There are no quick fixes to do better in the percussion band beginners, but I hope this can give one or two ideas that help!

Art - Edgar Degas' Life

Edgar Degas is a French artist that specialized in painting things in motion. He is known for being a master at drawing the human figure in motion. He had an extremely long career and is one of the most famous artists today.

Degas was born in Paris on July 19, 1834. His father was a very wealthy banker. At the age of only thirteen, his mother died. From the time that Degas was a young child, he had a very unpleasant attitude. He was restless, insecure and temperamental. His mother's early death and the extremely strict school that he attended may have shaped this personality. Despite being ill tempered, Degas was extraordinarily talented at art.

Degas studied art at Ecole des Beaux-Arts, a famous school in Paris. This is where his drawing ability really developed. After that, he went to Italy and studied the Renaissance paintings for five years before returning to France.

Although Degas is considered an impressionist painter, his work is very different than theirs. He liked to work in the studio rather than outside, unlike the impressionists. He also wasn't interested in optical light, which was the main concern for most impressionists.

Degas was especially interested in objects in motion, particularly the human figure. He observed people throughout his life to learn how all the muscles in the body work so that he could paint them better. He would attempt to catch his subjects in a moment in time, much like a photograph.

Edgar's paintings were usually put together asymmetrically and with very unusual angles. Many of his works appear to be cropped on the sides. All of his work has a photographic quality to it.

Before long, ballet dancers became Edgar's favorite thing to paint. He had a live model in his studio that he would use to create his works of art. He painted many different ballet paintings, such as dancers at a performance, dancers on stage, dancers resting or waiting to perform and dancers entering a stage.

Degas was a very lonely man. He spent most of his time alone, working in his studio. He had no serious relationships with women and almost seemed to despise them, saying that women make men's lives unbearable. This is very strange because he loved to paint women and paid very close attention to them, studying their every move.

Unfortunately, in the 1880s Degas' eyesight started to fail. He began to use two new medias which didn't require so much visual acuity. The two medias were pastels and sculptures. Even though he began to use new medias, he still tried to capture moments in time and still painted things in motion. However, as he grew older his eyesight deteriorated more and more. When this happened, most of his new works were sculptures.

Degas died on September 27, 1917. He lived to be over 80 years old and worked as an artist for more than 60 years. He was not very well known while he was alive. This is because he didn't show his works very much. After he died, people realized that he was an extraordinary artist.
